1083
Creation : 2013
Head office : Romans-sur-Isère
Did you know that conventional jeans travel up to 65,000 km during their manufacture while only 1083 km separate the two most distant cities in France? In 2013, 1083 took on the challenge of relocating the manufacturing of jeans to less than 1083 km from you to create as many jobs and pleasure as possible!
Their story : Weaving from France
When they started in 2013, 2 weavers trusted us : Denis Heinrich from Valrupt Industrie in the Vosges and Éric Boël from Tissages de Charlieu in the Loire. 5 years later, Denis Heinrich informs that his company is in receivership and asks 1083 to carry out a takeover project together to save as many jobs and know-how as possible. Thanks to the support of employees, the commercial court accepted their takeover project. Since September 2018, their former weaver Valrupt Industrie is now called Tissage de France, has joined team 1083, and brings together nearly 40 jobs !
Their trademark : Organic cotton
Since their debut in 2013, all 1083 jeans have been made from GOTS certified organic cotton. Their organic cotton does not pollute the water cycle. It comes mainly from Tanzania, Benin or Mali, where irrigation is reasonable. This raw material is the last step left for them to relocate to France: either while waiting for global warming or by recycling your old jeans !
